Explorers
This old mountain side
\r\nWhere we used to reside
\r\nIs slowly recalling
\r\nThe things we discovered inside
\r\n
\r\nOh the crystal caves
\r\n
\r\nWe shed both our jackets
\r\nAnd I hammered brackets
\r\nFrom old metal chairs
\r\nTo the walls, a crude set of stairs
\r\n
\r\nTo lead us down
\r\n
\r\nAnd you tied a rope
\r\nTo the steepening slope
\r\nA jerry rigged harness
\r\nSo we could descend in the dark
\r\n
\r\nBut the tide came in
\r\n
\r\nAnd we found ourselves in the sea
\r\nDeep under water
\r\nWe both found that we could still breathe
\r\nSo we spent the day submerged
\r\n
\r\nAnd we swam the evening away
\r\n
\r\n[Musical break]
\r\n
\r\nThe water was clear
\r\nLike the pure atmosphere
\r\nAs we kicked and fluttered
\r\nThrough caverns all cluttered with age
\r\n
\r\nIn the afterglow
\r\n
\r\nWe swim hand and hand
\r\nOver white satin sand
\r\nAnd you left a ribbon
\r\nTo honor the pale gibbon moon
\r\n
\r\nBut that was years ago
\r\n
\r\nAnd we never came up for air
\r\nDown there
\r\nWe can go anywhere
\r\n
\r\nThe old world was dying
\r\nWhile we took our flying
\r\nLike peregrine falcons
\r\nBeneath the transparent blue waves
\r\n
\r\nFar below the surf
\r\n
\r\nAnd we spent the hours
\r\nWith submarine flowers
\r\nI knew I'd remember
\r\nThat day in November
\r\nAs we
\r\nFelt alive again
\r\n
\r\nCuz we found ourselves in the sea
\r\nDeep underwater
\r\nWe both found that we could still breathe
\r\nSo we spent the day submerged
\r\nAnd we swam the evening away
\r\nWe swam the evening away
\r\n
\r\n
\r\n
