The Lady Of The Wood
There was a maiden, young and sweet,
\r\nWhose parents left her all alone;
\r\nbeing one year old, she was laid
\r\ndown on a bed of cold, grey stone.
\r\nHow she survived nobody knew
\r\nfor the wood was so dark and cold,
\r\nbut growing up she learned the truth
\r\nand got a heart, as pure as gold.
\r\n
\r\nAnd every time she ran through the meadows
\r\nand everytime she sang a song,
\r\nthere was this silvery light all around her
\r\neverywhere she came along.
\r\n
\r\nShe did not fear the howling wolves,
\r\nshe did not fear the blackest night,
\r\nthey were the family she´d lost
\r\nso she grew up in nature´s might.
\r\nThe only thing that frightened her
\r\nwas when she heard the hunter´s shot,
\r\nand every time this cruel man came
\r\nthere was a rain of tears and blood.
\r\n
\r\nAnd every time she cried for the fallen
\r\nand everytime he killed a deer,
\r\noh, how she cried her hot, bitter tears,
\r\neverytime this man was near.
\r\n
\r\nSo she did love and she did hate
\r\nand grew a woman, wise and old;
\r\nshe lived life in a wonderland
\r\nwith so much magic to behold.
\r\nShe knew the wood, she knew the wolves,
\r\nshe knew the deers, they all were one,
\r\nthey played with owls and unicorns,
\r\nbut then one day the girl was gone.
\r\n
\r\nAnd then it rained as if heaven was crying
\r\nfor the wood´s lady now was dead;
\r\nso the beasts carried her to her meadows
\r\nand in full bloom was her last bed.
