Screaming Surrender
a sculpture of an angel in ice stands before me,
\r\nthe more i hold her, the more she melts away.
\r\na sculpture of an angel in ice, just not made for me,
\r\nso sad as she left, she said “please don’t wait.”
\r\n
\r\nbut i still hear her whispers carried in the breeze, saying,
\r\n“baby, lets live while our souls are still free.”
\r\n
\r\nbut i’m down on my knees, crushed to the floor,
\r\nscreaming surrender like never before,
\r\ni knew it was wrong, still trying to hold on.
\r\nand i’m down on my knees, with myself to blame.
\r\n
\r\nall my faith was in pieces, like a broken glass,
\r\nas i tried to collect it, i cut myself.
\r\nafter time all the pieces were all replaced,
\r\nas my love for her faded, to the silent place.
\r\n
\r\nbut i still hear her whispers carried in the breeze,
\r\nsaying, “baby, lets live while our souls are still free.”
\r\n
\r\nbut i’m down on my knees, close to the floor,
\r\nscreaming surrender like never before,
\r\ni knew it was wrong, still trying to hold on.
\r\nbut i’m down on my knees, with myself to blame,
\r\ncoz i’m too weak to blow out the flame.
\r\ni’m still trying to hold on.
\r\n
\r\nstill trying to hold…
\r\nstill trying to hold on.
\r\nso lets live while our souls are still free.
\r\n
\r\nbut i’m down on my knees, with myself to blame.
\r\ncoz i’m too weak to blow out this flame.
